About Melissa
I have worked as a School Psychologist for 12 years in the public school setting with elementary through high school aged students. My experience in the school setting includes individual counseling, group counseling, grade level and classroom wide social emotional instruction, intervention innovation and implementation, data analysis, conflict resolution, staff trainings, team management, behavior management, and comprehensive psycho-educational assessments and reports. Most recently, I have expanded my areas of expertise to working with teenagers with acute diagnoses of anxiety and depression.

Additionally, I am passionate about the topic of screen time use and digital media effects on youth. My experience includes local advocacy and awareness on this topic within the Santa Barbara community and school districts, presentations at the California Association of School Psychologist state conferences, participation in work groups through Fairplay and the Screen Time Action Network, and most recently as a co-host for the Mental Health Work Group. I plan to bring digital media treatment options to my practice.

When I am not working, I enjoy being outside in the sun, family crafts, going on adventures, trying something new, exploring our community, picnicking in old and new spots, riding trains and buses, and taking time to smell the roses.
